Configuring Your First Class

Create classes and sessions to start accepting enrollments.

Understanding the Structure

Joyn organizes your offerings in two levels:

  • Class — your offering (e.g., "After-School Art", "Summer Camp 2025"). Each class has a name, category, age range, and capacity.
  • Session — individual meeting times for a class (e.g., "Tuesday 3:30-4:30 PM")

Creating a Class

  1. Navigate to Classes in the sidebar
  2. Click Create Class
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Name and description — what families see when browsing
    • Age range — set minimum and maximum ages (optional)
    • Category — helps families find relevant classes
    • Group name — optionally group related classes together for display (e.g., "Summer 2025")
  4. Set capacity — how many participants can enroll
  5. Set pricing — per-session, per-class, or custom pricing
  6. Assign a location if applicable
  7. Optionally configure group/family pricing for discounted rates

Scheduling Sessions

Add sessions to define when the class meets:

  • Set the date, start time, and end time for each session
  • For recurring classes, you can create multiple sessions at once
  • Sessions appear on the family booking calendar

Publishing

Once everything looks good, publish your class to make it visible on your booking page. Families can then browse and enroll directly.

Tips

  • Start with one class to get comfortable with the flow before adding more
  • Use descriptive names — families should immediately understand what the class is about
  • Set age ranges to help families find age-appropriate options
  • Test the booking flow yourself by visiting your public booking page
